Pat Venditte, RHP/LHP for the Charleston RiverDogs (Class A affiliate for the New York Yankees)

Drafted by the Yankees in the 20th round of the 2008 MLB draft, Venditte is the first full-fledged “switch pitcher” to play professional baseball since the late 1800s.  The 23 year old is still a few seasons away from reaching the majors, but his dominant college and minor league numbers point to a promising future.

Interestingly, the Professional Baseball Umpire Corporation has recently had to write new rules specifically for Venditte and his ability to change pitching hands during a game.  You can see video of this ambidextrous phenom and his custom, six-fingered glove here.
